The Holy Place: Discovering the Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World, by Henry Lincoln (Arcade Publications, 1991)
If you liked Holy Blood, Holy Grail, you'll love this book.
The author uses the same research methods to ascertain the 'sacred
geometry' of Rennes-le-Chateau. However, since his research hinges
on the accurate reading of certain maps, the facts presented in this
book are rather shaky. The maps and the superimposed lines marking
off the 'sacred landscape' are innaccurately drawn. Though there are
some few churches along those lines, to see the grids and pentacles
the author claims exist calls for great leaps of faith.
This would make an excellent historical fiction novel,
but as a non-fiction book geared toward those interested in
historical facts, it is fine for conspiracy theorists, but others
will need to take it with a grain of salt.
